Long Term Winter Lets
From November to the end of April we offer our flats at a greatly reduced rate for people wishing to stay for at least one up to six months.
Torbay and South Devon can still offer many things to see and do during the quieter months without the crowds. The weather can be much milder than the rest of the country during this period with many beautiful clear days to explore the area. Our winter lets allow flexible accommodation without the added cost of council tax, water rates, building insurance, or TV licence.
The flats are fully equipped for winter lets as they are during the summer; all we ask is that you provide your own bedding.
Free WiFi is also included and we have on site laundry facilities with coin operated washing machine and dryer. Electricity is provided via a meter in each flat and is the only extra cost.
Each flat is completely private with its own front door. Big tree has ample off street private parking with plenty of room for one car for each flat.
Winter lets offer great value for money if you want to get away from it all and relax for a longer periods of time and explore all this peaceful region has to offer.
If you are between houses, renovating, or need a base while you are looking to buy, winter lets are perfect.
Suitable for working or retired couples/singles. Our flats are not really suitable for children long term, and we do not accept pets.
So if you are looking for flexible temporary accommodation in excess of at least one month with no contracts or restrictions, contact us for prices.
All we ask is that you give two weeks notice prior to your departure.

How to book
To book one of our flats for a long term winter let please telephone us to confirm availability and we will reserve the flat for you.
We will then ask you to download, print and complete the booking form from the link below and post it to us along with a cheque for your deposit.
If you are unable to download or print the forms please let us know when you telephone to book and we will happily post you a form to complete and return.

Our Accommodation
All have their own front doors to the outside. Ample free private parking is provided and guests have use of our pretty garden and patio. Free wifi access is installed.
Our location
We are ideally situated for a happy and carefree holiday, centrally located approximately half a mile from Paignton town, bus and train stations, harbour and all the main beaches.

Great stay
Friendly proprieties very clean and tidy unit, all amenities ample parking and close to centre and bus routes and reasonably priced, will definitely be returning! Went for a long weekend but already looking to book with the grandkids!

Amazing place to stay
My wife and I stayed here in between Christmas and New Year and we couldn't recommend this place more!The apartment felt 'cosy' but spacious and was very clean and tidy. We can't wait to go back in the summer! The welcome we received was warm and friendly from Michelle and Sean, it made us feel at home on holiday!Paignton is a lovely place to visit with plenty going on made better by staying in the Big Tree!

Great hosts and clean, well equipped apartment.
Dave and Jan are brilliant hosts, very friendly and helpful. The flat has everything you need for a self catering holiday and the beds are comfy. The flat was lovely and clean when we arrived and well aired.We would recommend staying here, and we hope to return.It's the perfect base to visit South Devon, with so much to see and do, we ran out of days.

Brilliant
We stayed at Big Tree for a week and were really pleased. The flat was very clean well appointed and comfortable ample car parking . The hosts Dave & Jan were very friendly and helpful always had time for a chat. Big tree could not be better placed in Paignton for convenience 10 minute walk to town centre and 10 minute walk to Goodrington plus a regular bus service. Should we return to Paignton we will definitely stay at Big Tree

Perfect location, friendly hosts and great value.
We received a warm welcome from Dave and Jan upon arrival. The presentation and cleanliness of the flat was excellent - especially with current COVID extra cleaning. The location is just outside Paignton town centre - 10 min walk, and similar to the gorgeous Goodrington Sands. Have been for many years now and am certain to return!

Carswell family holiday 2021
Had a lovely family holiday in July 2021. A very warm welcome as always from Dave and Jan on arrival. Flat was lovely and clean. Good price, nice and handy for the town. We love it in Paignton and have stayed at Big Tree many times before and will definitely be returning again!

Outstanding
Upon arrival, the hosts were amazing, nothing was to much trouble made me feel very welcome. My accommodation in flat 1 was so clean and very well presented, all facilities were modern and well appointed. Crisp clean sheets and overall cleanliness exceeded expectations. Location perfect quite and in close proximity to local amenities and beaches. Ample parking and prices excellent for the area, recommend this place to everyone visiting the area book early as they are very popular with repeat guests.

Simply the best
Beautiful little flats. Everything you need for a home from home holiday is here. The flats are really clean and lovely and warm (our stay was end of September) .The flats have off street parking which is a massive positive. You have your own front door which again is a massive plusDave and Jan are the perfect hosts.The flats themselves are only a 10 minute walk to the sea front or town, near enough but far enough away from the centre as you are not bothered with the hustle and bustleIf we come to Paignton again then i will definetly book again and am recommending them to everyone
